Apple developing AirPods with camera: Report

Apple is reportedly working on new AirPods that are integrated with cameras. A new report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has revealed that while this version will not be appearing anytime soon with the launch of the AirPods Pro 3 later in the year. 

Just like smart glasses, the device will be able to analyse the world and process information for the user with external cameras. Gurman said that with this feature, users will possibly be able to ask Siri questions about the environment and the phone will be able to answer without the user even needing to take the phone of their pocket. 

Apple recently integrated Visual Intelligence with the iPhone 16 models. 

Supple chain analyst Ming Chi Kuo has separately also said that Apple devices like the Vision Pro and other headsets could be including these AirPods for better spatial audio. He also added that the cameras for these devices could have “in-air gesture control” for the AirPods so when users turn their heads in a specific direction, the sound is enhanced in that direction.

Reports from a couple of days ago also stated that Apple’s Siri upgrade was delayed indefinitely with their AI team flailing around.
