Adobe launches AI feature to expand 4K and vertical videos

Adobe announced the launch of its AI-powered Generative Extend feature in Premier Pro, that will now let users generate audio/video clips, as well as extend existing clips in a natural manner.

In particular, users who work with 4K video as well as videos in both the landscape and vertical orientations will be able to extend too-short video clips to meet their required duration.

Generative Extend is powered by Adobe’s Firefly video model, and the company stressed it was safe for commercial use.

In addition to this, Adobe announced AI-powered Media Intelligence that would help creators and editors find in seconds the exact clip they needed--even if it was buried in terabytes of footage.

“We’re so excited to see how the Premiere Pro community uses Generative Extend in 4K and AI-powered Media Intelligence to create stories that capture our imaginations. By harnessing the power of Firefly and our advanced AI capabilities, we’re transforming the video editing experience and enabling our customers to focus on what matters most to them — telling vivid, compelling stories,” said Ashley Still, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Digital Media at Adobe.
