Nintendo announced that the U.S. price of its upcoming Switch 2 will remain unchanged at $449.99, and that retail pre-orders would begin on April 24.
The news comes as game lovers worldwide worry that an ongoing trade tariff clash between the U.S. and China might lead to sky-rocketing prices for gaming goods.
However, the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle will remain priced at the initial rate, while the physical and digital versions of Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza will also remain unchanged at $79.99 and $69.99, respectively.
Though the main device prices are set to remain the same for U.S. buyers, the company warned that Nintendo Switch 2 accessories will see price changes due to “changes in market conditions.” Nintendo also warned that the prices of other products across its range could also change in the future, based on market conditions.
“We apologize for the retail pre-order delay, and hope this reduces some of the uncertainty our customers may be experiencing. We thank our customers for their patience, and we share their excitement to experience Nintendo Switch 2 starting June 5, 2025,” said Nintendo in its post.
