South Korean major Samsung Electronics will be making an additional investment of ₹1,000 crore in its existing plant at Sriperumbudur, near Chennai.
Tamil Nadu’s Industries Minister, T.R.B. Rajaa posted a message on X which said: “Samsung to make an additional investment of ₹1,000 crore in existing facility in Sriperumbudur, creating 100 more jobs, reinforcing their faith in the labour force of Tamil Nadu.”
Later in the evening, the Minister held a press meet where he indicated that Tamil Nadu is heading fast towards achieving the $1 trillion economy dream. Sharing details on the DMK government’s first Global Investors Meet that was held in January 2024, he said that the conversion rates have been good, and it has touched over 70%. “There is a demand for creating a cluster of industries at a single location,” he said.
