Instagram tests showing users unseen Highlights: Report

Meta is testing a new Instagram feature to show users their friends’ Highlights that they may have missed, after they finish watching their friends’ Stories, reported TechCrunch, citing a Meta spokesperson.

The spokesperson said that unseen but recent Highlights would come to a user at the end of the Story “tray,” in case they had missed out on these updates previously, per the tech outlet. This is being tested on a small scale presently.

Highlights refer to media formats that users have selected and saved for long-term viewing near the top of their profile. Meanwhile, Stories on Instagram last for 24 hours unless they are turned into Highlights for preservation.

Instagram recently rolled out a feature to let users schedule their DMs to be sent up to almost a month later.
