Uber on Wednesday (January 8, 2025) disclosed how Indians utilised the ride hailing platform throughout 2024. The report, ‘How India Ubered’ noted that a total of 9.2 billion kilometers were travelled in 2024 by the riders on the platform. Out of it, nearly 170 million kilometres was done on electric vehicles (EVs).
Uber Auto was the most favoured Uber product in 2024, followed by Uber Go.
The Uber users in Kochi were rated the highest by their driver partners with an average of staggering 4.90 out of 5. Nearly, 95.8% of the trips were 5-start rated in Kochi. Chandigarh had the second-highest average rider rating at 4.816, followed by Pune marginally behind at 4.815.
On contrary, Kolkata had the lowest average rider rating (4.65), followed by Mumbai (4.711), and Delhi NCR (4.714).

Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, and Kolkata booked most number of Uber trips last year. While Delhi-NCR did the overall highest number of trips, while Mumbai used it the most for late-night trips.
Bangalore used Uber for their work commute the most among all cities, and had the highest number of office-hour trips booked.
Overall, most Uber trips were booked between 6 pm and 7 pm. The most popular day of the week for booking an Uber was Friday. December has seen the highest number of rides being booked in a single month.
Uber also saw the highest number of rides booked on October 9 during Durga Puja and Navratri.
In terms of preferences for Uber Rentals rides with multiple stops, most riders opted for the 2 hour, 20 kilometer package. The early morning, between 5 am and 6 am, saw the highest number of Uber Reserve trips being booked to airports.
Uber Shuttle saw 432,000 first-time users.
Taj Mahal in Agra was the most frequented tourist destination in 2024 using the popular Uber Intercity.
Uber Courier (formerly Package) was most used to send packages during the lunch hour of 1 pm. One single user booked as many as 2,900 Uber Courier deliveries during 2024.
Delhi NCR had the fastest average speeds clocked, followed by Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Pune.
Mumbai-Pune was the top intercity routes, then Delhi – Agra, Bangalore – Mysore, Lucknow – Kanpur, and Ahmedabad – Vadodara.
The top 5 longest Intercity trips by kilometers traveled on Uber, including round trips on Intercity, was Noida - Sasaram - Noida (1747 km), Delhi - Ayodhya - Delhi (1464 km), and Noida - Gorakhpur - Noida (1458 km).
