WhatsApp rolls out new camera effects, selfie stickers

WhatsApp has unveiled a bunch of new features and design changes to their chat interface to improve the user experience. These include new camera effects, selfie stickers and faster reactions to messages.

In a blog announcing the release, Meta noted that users will be able to choose from between 30 background options, filters and effects while sending a video or photo to someone. They will also be able to turn their selfies into stickers. Users can click on the sticker icon and when the camera option shows up, can take a selfie to create the sticker. The feature is available on Android now and will be coming to iOS soon.

Sticker packs can also be shared directly with others in the chat. Users can also react quicker to messages by just double tapping on them. They can scroll through their most-used reactions.

A report by Android Police published said that WhatsApp could be getting a dedicated Meta AI widget that can be added to the home screen of the Android phone. The update is still in beta and appears to push Meta’s AI features even further for WhatsApp users.
