ChatGPT on WhatsApp now allows voice and image inputs

OpenAI’s ChatGPT can now take voice and image inputs on WhatsApp. Users can upload images or send voice messages to chat with the AI bot which in turn then responds via text.

This means ChatGPT will be able to analyse the details of an image and give feedback on it.

Android Authority first reported on the upgrade adding that Pro and Plus subscribers should also be able to login to their accounts and use OpenAI’s paid models like the GPT-4o, o1, o1 mini and o3-mini through WhatsApp.

ChatGPT was added to WhatsApp in December. Users can save 1-800-CHATGPT as a contact on their smartphone and then relaunch WhatsApp. The official ChatGPT account then appears on the WhatsApp contact list.

This is besides Meta’s own Llama AI chatbot will is also available on the app.

The feature has reportedly been rolled out globally.
